Will it hurt?
Let’s be honest, waxing isn't painless, you will feel some discomfort as the wax is pulled, but the pain doesn’t linger.
Pain factors include:

• What's being waxed.

• The sensitivity of your skin.

• Individual tolerance levels.

The first waxing session will be more painful than the second, and so on. It's something you get used to with multiple sessions.

How long does waxing last?

You​ can expect to see new hair growth around 3-4 weeks post wax, Waxing is known to reduce hair growth, growing back thinner and softer with a regular waxing routine.

Is there anything I need to do before and after my wax?
There are a few simple steps to follow pre and post wax. 
Aftercare guidance will also be discussed during your appointment.

Appointment Cancellations

Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. 
Clients may cancel or amend bookings up to 24 hours in advance of the time of the appointment, this can be done through the online booking system only.
If an appointment has not been cancelled, moved or amended with 24 hours notice we have the right to charge clients the full balance of the appointment cost, less deposit paid.
Clients who cancel appointments with more than 24 hours notice will only lose their deposit.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
We ask for a 20% deposit for all treatments at the time of online booking.  The booking is only fully confirmed once the deposit has been received.

Who can use our service?
You must be 18 years of age to have a treatment in The Smooth Room studio.  We have the right to ask for I.D.  We also have the right to refuse treatments to anyone who cannot provide I.D. when requested.

Patch Tests
We require you to have a patch test 24-48 hours before your treatment if you have previously had an adverse reaction to waxing or any known allergies or skin sensitivities. The test can be booked free of charge online and takes just 5 - 10 minutes.

Holiday booked
We recommend that you have your treatments 5-7 days before going on holiday to the sunshine. This allows your skin a chance to recover and any redness to subside before exposing your skin to the sun.
