PRE & POST WAXING ADVICE

Pre-waxing advice

Your hair needs to be a minimum of ½ cm long for waxing treatments. Please leave at least 3 weeks since your last shave and 4 weeks between wax treatments.

Gently exfoliate the area to be treated, beginning 2-3 days before your waxing appointment. This removes any dead skin and lifts the hair allowing better results and a smoother finish.

Please arrive for your appointment clean and fresh, if showering prior to your appointment please try to leave a 1–2-hour gap.

After care advice

Please follow these guidelines to ensure your skin is cared for and you get the best results from your treatment.
Immediately after your treatment you may experience some redness, small bumps and slight soreness, these are common reactions.  These symptoms are temporary and should subside over the next 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction for the next 24-48 hours.

  • No hot baths or showers

  • Avoid saunas, hot tubs or chlorinated pools

  • No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans). Use a sunblock on exposed areas of skin after waxing if you’re going into the sunshine

  • No sport, gym work or any other vigorous exercise

  • Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands

  •  Wear clean, loose-fitting clothes

  • Do not apply any deodorants, body sprays, makeup, perfume or lotions to the area other than those recommended.

  • Use an antibacterial body wash to help prevent infection over the next few days, this will help the healing process should any pimples appear.

  • To protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Please wash your hands before applying any product.

Once any soreness or redness has subsided gently exfoliate the skin up to 3 times a week using a body mitt, brush or scrub. Moisturise the area every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs grow through easily and help prevent ingrown hairs.

You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so.  It can take up to 4 treatments spaced evenly apart, 4-6 weeks, for your hair to get on a cycle that gives the best results.  Please do not shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams between your appointments.  For best long-term results, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.
